Our Mission

To preserve and enhance the rule of law in El Dorado County by providing all persons a fair, efficient, and accessible forum for resolving disputes, protecting public safety, and righting wrongs.

Criminal

The Criminal Division files, processes and maintains criminal records of all felonies and misdemeanors. The Division maintains an index of filings and record of criminal dispositions. Calendars are prepared and maintained through an automated case management system.

What is a Felony?

A felony is a crime punishable by death, or imprisonment in the state prison or county jail and fines.

What is a Misdemeanor?

Except in cases where a different punishment is prescribed by any law of this state, every offense declared to be a misdemeanor is punishable by imprisonment in the county jail, or by fine, or both.
